UAE, 1 April, 2015 – The achievements of Dubai Courts in the implementation of smart solutions, introduction of new innovations, and a high Customer Happiness Index drew strong interest from government officials and decision-makers during the three-day Dubai Government Achievements Exhibition 2015 held under the theme ‘Local Government and International Achievements.’ The exhibition primarily highlighted the first-of-its-kind application of ‘smart services’ in government and judicial sectors in line with the Dubai Government’s vision of transforming the emirate into one of the world’s smart cities that is committed to making its people happy.

Dubai Courts’ smart application received an overwhelming response during the event especially after it recently won the ‘Smart Government Shield.’ It emphasized that the application has resulted in faster, more efficient and seamless processing of case applications done under the highest standards of creativity and innovation. The application provides smart and interactive legal and judicial services targeting the general public, internal auditors, and judges to ensure their satisfaction, happiness and welfare.

During the event, Dubai Courts also featured its innovative ‘Al Salfa’ program designed to enable accurate and fast online case registration, accelerate the judicial and legal system’s smart transformation, facilitate the litigation process, save time and effort, and provide 24-hour services.

The ‘Smart Detention’ program was also showcased during the exhibition as a one-of-a-kind project in the region in terms of allowing document processing using tablet devices to save time and effort and enable prompt execution of judicial decisions and judgments. The project facilitates online communication between court officials and judges and the public using the latest technological innovations.

Moreover, the event provided a platform to highlight the role of the ‘Private Notary Services’ and its e-services in promoting the UAE’s competitiveness especially in terms of doing business in the country in accordance with World Bank standards. Dubai Courts also put the spotlight on the achievements of the ‘Shoor’ program launched in 2012 to provide free legal advice in cooperation with various law offices in Dubai. The fourth and final phase of the program, which has witnessed increased customer confidence and satisfaction levels, is due for completion by the end of this year.

The Centre for Amicable Settlements of Disputes, meanwhile, has set a new record by resolving civil, commercial and real estate disputes within half an hour, saving several billions of dirhams. The accomplishment has also consolidated economic and social stability in Dubai, which has become a model of development regionally and globally. The ‘Notification by e-publication’ service also created a positive impact on customer satisfaction and the Happiness Index as well as the local community’s wellbeing. The service facilitates the e-publication of lawsuit ads in local newspapers in case of the inability to access the defendant’s address.

H.E. Expert Tarish Eid Al Mansouri, Director General, Dubai Courts, said: “In line with Dubai Courts’ objectives of attaining excellence and innovation set by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, we experienced significant achievements that support our goal of attaining leadership. All our efforts are in line with the objectives of the National Strategy for Innovation in a bid to make the UAE one of the most innovative countries in the world.”

Inspired by our achievements, we are committed to making Dubai Courts’ services 100 per cent smart by the end of this year. We aim to save time and effort in completing all legal and judicial transactions in line with the ‘Happiness Index’ initiative to ensure public happiness and community welfare.”

He concluded: “Our participation in Dubai Government Achievements Exhibition 2015 reflects the importance we place on the event as a strategic platform to enhance communication channels, exchange best practices and experiences, and improve government services to put the UAE in the ranks of the world’s developed nations. With our successive achievements, we now have a big responsibility to improve the quality, efficiency and reliability of the legal and judicial services in line with the objectives of Dubai Plan 2021 to build a proactive, creative and distinguished government that meets the needs of the future.”

The Dubai Courts’ achievements were presented before 32 government entities during the event. The topics included ‘My Awareness is My Identity’ and ‘Won’ programs, brochures and visual communications, the courts’ social media channels, and Dubai Courts’ branches — all of which represented an important step towards government excellence in Dubai.

The third edition of the Dubai Government Achievement Exhibition organized by Dubai Government Excellence Program at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre aimed to highlight the government’s achievements in the economic front as well as in the fields of security, innovation, smart transformation and sustainability, among others. The event coincided with the fifth edition of the Annual Investment Forum, a prestigious regional gathering promoting foreign direct investments and business opportunities in the UAE and the rest of the Gulf region.
